History
Samuel Ogilvie built Central Halls and began the People’s Popular Services on
19th March 1932, later becoming known as the Central Halls Mission Church.
October 3rd 1982 saw the establishment of the Central Halls Fellowship which was renamed and became the Renfrew Christian Fellowship on 23rd June 1996.
Mission Statement “By prayer, preaching and Godly living, to reach out to the population with the full gospel of Jesus Christ”
Vision “By the grace of God, and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, to create an environment within the Renfrew Christian Fellowship in which –
· members will have a greater desire to become disciples, and to glorify Jesus Christ by prayer, praise and worship
· Members will have a heart for God and sound doctrine, and a desire to bear good fruit in their lives and by their lives
· the fruit of the Spirit will flourish, and the gifts and power of the Holy Spirit will be evidenced
· corporate and individual evangelism will be encouraged and practiced
· brotherly love will be engendered, in practical care for one another and in serving the community
· members will honour God by their commitment to serve Him and to support His work financially”
Beliefs The Church believes that the Bible is the Infallible Word of God, given to the writers by the divine inspiration of the Holy Spirit and is committed to maintaining its doctrine, teaching and Church government in accordance with the same. The Church acknowledges –
· the Unity of the Godhead and the divine co-equality of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit
· the Incarnation of the Son of God, Jesus Christ, His work of atonement for sinners by His substitutionary death on the Cross, His bodily resurrection, ascension His intercession for His people and His personal return (Acts 1v11)
· the personal and eternal salvation of the sinner solely by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2v8; John 3v16)
· the work of the Holy Spirit in conviction of sin, conversion and regeneration, his direction of worship and ministry and the evidence of his power in Gifts (1st Corinthians 12) and Fruits (Galatians 5v22-23), the divine institution of believers’ baptism, (Markl6vl6) and the Lord’s Supper (Luke 22v19; 1 Corinthians 11vv23-19
